Cynthia has a BS in Pharmacy from Purdue University and an MM in Church Music (with highest distinction) from Valparaiso University. Her piano teachers included Norah Hawbaker and Dr. Greg Davis (University of Evansville). She studied organ under Clara Woolley (Ancilla College), Paul Anderson, Dr. Andrew McShane (Notre Dame University), and Dr. John Bernthal (Valparaiso University) and organ improvisation with Dr. Lorraine Brugh (Valparaiso University). She has been an accompanist for the Plymouth High School Choral Department, Missoula Children’s Theatre, Marshall County Chorus, Encore Productions “Messiah”, Culver Military Academy, Maxinkuckee Players, and accompanist for ISSMA District and State Contests for vocal and band students. While at Valparaiso University, Cynthia accompanied University Singers, accompanied Chapel Services, and presented two organ recitals. Her career paths have been varied, including working as a pharmacist, elementary music teacher, church musician, and retail store manager. Currently, she is an Oblate of St. Meinrad Monastery, plays for Sunday Mass at St. Dominic Church in Bremen, and works full-time at the Countertop Shoppe. She is a member of Pi Kappa Lambda, a National Music Honour Society. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, hiking, water-colour, and pencil sketching. She is married to Mike and they have two sons, Stephen and Anthony.
