Deep River

One of the best-known and loved of spirituals, the first printed reference is found in the first edition of “The Story of the Jubilee Singers: With Their Songs,” by J. B. T. Marsh in 1876. Later, in 1916, Harry Burleigh included his arrangement in his collection “Jubilee Songs of the USA.”
